Sanchin – A Life of its Own and a Moment of Panic

I’m not sure how I feel today. Overwhelmed I guess. It was always my intention to publish Sanchin in eBook form as well as paperback, but I did think I would launch the paperback first.

Now, I’m normally the crazy impulsive type who does something (usually stupid) and then deals with the consequences as they happen, but his time I thought I would plan ahead.

Anyway, today I decided to get the formatting right for the eBook and I uploaded it to Smashwords so I could preview it and tweak until I got it right. I figured I could leave it sitting there, unnoticed, until I was ready to promote it in eBook form. Wrong!

Literally within minutes of me uploading it I got an email through my website and a Tweet on Twitter from Mark Gladding at eBooks Just Published saying that he would be announcing Sanchin on his site tomorrow –  which is actually today my time as Mark is in Australia. Thank you, Mark 😀

A link to the eBook has also appeared in a friend’s profile on Facebook. Thanks, Sparky 😀

So suddenly my planning ahead had turned into one of those crazy impulsive things that I do 😮

I like eBooks and I buy a lot of them but, so far, they have all been non-fiction. With fiction I love to curl up in bed and read or even have a soak in the bath with a good novel. The idea of fiction in eBook format has never really appealed to me and I think that’s why I wanted to launch the paperback first.

I know a lot of people use eBook readers these days and maybe they do take them to bed. I just know from my late night editing that laptops don’t make the best of bed mates.

As I said, I always intended to publish in eBook format as I want Sanchin to be available to people in what ever format they prefer, but now it’s actually out there I feel a bit weird about it.

Maybe it’s just because it finally means I have to leave it alone. It’s public now so no more tweaking here and there, no more quick edits, no more double checking the formatting, it’s done and I have to let it be what it is.

The paperback version of Sanchin will be available on May 15th.  If there are any changes to that date I’ll keep you posted.

May 15th Marked. I to really turn the pages of my books as opposed to the button pressing of e-books 😀 could just be me and my prejudices!

    Hi Chris,
I know what you mean. I feel the same way. I still feel a bit weird about it being out there in eBook format. Maybe I need to get into the 21st century LOL.
