I love it when those random little things in life turn into something wonderful.
I’ve been following Chris’ blog My Kyokushin – The Diary of a Karateka for some time now. I first found it when it popped up on my Google alert for Kyokushin.
I can’t tell you how many times I hit the comment button and then changed my mind. I’m not sure why, I just didn’t think I had anything of value to add for him or his readers.
Anyway, one day I did comment. Chris had been talking about his training and I just felt the urge to wish him luck. I did, and it lead to something amazing.
Chris came to my site and loved the first chapter of Sanchin. We exchanged emails and blog comments and I sent Chris the full manuscript of the book. He loved that too, and I will always be grateful to him for taking the time to read it and to give me his opinion.
I can honestly say that it is thanks to Chris that I have come as far as I have with Sanchin. I’ve said on here before that my biggest fear was how the book would be received by fellow martial artists. Chris set my mind at rest and gave me the confidence to finish the final edit and to press ahead with publishing it.
And, as if that was not enough, Chris has supported Sanchin on his blog and driven traffic to my site. This morning I got an email from him with these amazing images attached:
I just love these, they are brilliant. It’s taken me over an hour to figure out how to get them up on here (hides non-techy head in the sand) and I still didn’t get them neatly spaced, but they are perfect.
Chris, thank you so much. You are an inspiration. I hope one day to meet you in person.
