I’ve said this before, I never blog twice in one day unless it’s something important. Well, this is.
Today I met the most amazing person. And all I really know about her is that her name is Anita and she is a wonderful woman.
You see, today my boy cat, Phil, took a turn for the worse and I had to take him to the emergency vet.
Now, I know I can be a cynical old moo but I do have a heart. No, really, I do. And nothing tugs at the old heartstrings more than my furry friends.
Anyway, this lovely lady, Anita, saw that I was distressed (even though I was trying my best not to be) and she asked about my boy.
I, of course, started blubbing, in public, about possibly having to have him put to sleep.
OMG, this is not even my cat and I was bordering on hysteria taking him, on the bus, to the vet!
Anyway, Anita not only missed her stop and stayed on the bus with me all the way into the bus station, she also took me in a taxi to the vet rather than let me wait for the next bus AND she paid for the taxi AND she waited with me until we’d seen the vet.
I honestly cannot thank her enough. You see, I was convinced I was going to be coming home without my baby. He was so ill this morning that I really thought there was no hope.
Anyway, Anita’s kindness and selflessness restored my faith in humanity and, in some way, gave me hope for my boy too.
The vet examined him and has given him a three week course of antibiotics as well as steroids, and put him on a light diet of fish and chicken. He may still not recover from his illness but at least I know his last few days will be happy. He just loves his fish and his chicken.
Anita, thank you so much. I really hope you get in touch and I hope you know how much your kindness meant to me, Phil and his dad.
